iDog has introduced an automatic dog ball launcher for dogs of all sizes and we much say, not only is it unique, it?s also quite impressive.? If you?re interested in seeing how it stacks up next to other automatic ball launchers for dogs currently on the market, keep reading this review as we?re going to jump into the design, performance, and features of the iDog ball thrower.
The Box
If you order the iDog ball launcher on the Internet, it ships out in an iDog branded box, which is better than the traditional plain brown or white shipping box. The company put some pretty good attention to detain when it comes to the branding and package design. They ship it in a way to make sure the contents inside the box are protected during the shipping process.
What?s in the Box?
When you receive the iDog dog ball launcher, you?ll receive the following:
AC power supply
iDogmate ball launcher
3Dog tennis balls
3 extra screws
Remote control
Instructions
The design, in our opinion, is top notch. Many reviewers love the creativity that was put into this product and believe that there is no other product currently on the market quite like this. The bright green color palette on top of the white really makes it stand out from the crowd.
Design
When you look down at the unit, you?ll find the ball chute (it?s bright green, so you?re not going to miss it). The ball chute is responsible for funneling the ball into the machine so that it can launch. The ball funnel is a wide area, which is great if you plan on teaching your dog how to play a game of fetch alone. This gives your dog a wider area to return the ball, making it easier for them to learn.
On the side of the launcher, you?ll notice two green handles ? this is for moving the launcher. If you plan on using the large launcher, these handles will come in handy, because the launcher is a bit on the large side, but that is perfectly fine. Regardless, the handles are there in order to make it easier for you to move the ball launcher outside for a game of fetch, then bring it back inside so your dog can continue playing with it.
You can turn it on and off with the AC adapter port, then there?s an on/off button you can use with the rechargeable batteries. The two power buttons may be a bit on the confusing side, but you?ll get used to it. The power button on top will turn the device on from the batteries, while the switch on the bottom will turn it on through the AC adapter.
Features
Large (Midi) and Small (Mini) Versions
iDogmate offers two versions of the ball launcher. If you have a large dog like a lab or pit bull, then you should go for the Midi version. The large version launches regular sized tennis balls, while the small ersions requires mini tennis balls. The large version, in our opinion, would be best for dogs that are 50 pounds and above.
Adjustable Distance
Without being able to control the distance, it wouldn?t be an automatic dog launcher.
Large:
50ft
40ft
20ft
10ft
Small:
30ft
20ft
10ft
Remote Control
The iDogmat comes with a handy remote control that you can use in order to reset the device, turn it on and off and adjust the distance settings.
Conclusion
While there are many amazing automatic dog ball launchers currently available, if you have a little extra money to spare, we highly recommend the iDog midi Rechargeable Dog Ball Launcher ? it has everything you need in order to keep your dog busy for hours on end.?Check out this Dripless Water Bowl.
